\u00e0 la fin du 18\u1d49 si\u00e8cle par la ville qui acquiert alors le couvent pour le transformer en champ de foire jusqu\u2019au d\u00e9but du 19\u1d49 si\u00e8cle. Une partie du couvent sera ensuite revendue \u00e0 un notable qui en fera un h\u00f4tel particulier \u00e0 la moiti\u00e9 du 19\u1d49 si\u00e8cle.<\/p><p>L\u2019H\u00f4tel le Champlain et son jardin \u00e0 la fran\u00e7aise occupent \u00e0 ce jour une partie de cet ancien couvent.<\/p><p>Apr\u00e8s le si\u00e8ge de Richelieu (1627-1628), La Rochelle rouvre ses portes \u00e0 la religion catholique. Quelques ann\u00e9es plus tard, en 1948, ils l\u2019agrandirent pour le transformer en h\u00f4tel commercial en plein centre-ville de La Rochelle.<\/p><p>L\u2019h\u00f4tel fut baptis\u00e9 \u00ab Le Champlain \u00bb par Marie-H\u00e9l\u00e8ne Brisson qui avait en admiration l\u2019explorateur Samuel de Champlain pour son c\u00f4t\u00e9 avant-gardiste et pionnier, personnage \u00e0 r\u00e9sonnance historique en Charente-Maritime. Dans les ann\u00e9es 1980, l\u2019h\u00f4tel fut repris par leur fille unique, Christiane Jouineau, qui sut continuer et cultiver l\u2019h\u00e9ritage du bon go\u00fbt et de l\u2019hospitalit\u00e9.<\/p><p>Depuis 2005 \u00e0 nos jours, sa fille Anne Jouineau, assure et poursuit la p\u00e9rennit\u00e9 d\u2019un h\u00e9ritage familial en accompagnant l\u2019\u00e9tablissement h\u00f4telier dans le 21\u00e8me si\u00e8cle, associant toute la modernit\u00e9 souhait\u00e9e par les clients avec l\u2019h\u00f4tellerie traditionnelle tout en maintenant l\u2019assurance d\u2019une qualit\u00e9 de service personnalis\u00e9.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column h\u00f4tel embl\u00e9matique de La Rochelle empreint d\u2019histoire, d\u00e9cide de racheter Le Champlain en 2019.<\/p><p>Des travaux d\u2019embellissement sont r\u00e9alis\u00e9s, modernisant la demeure tout en conservant son caract\u00e8re et son authenticit\u00e9.<\/p><p>Le Champlain poursuit d\u00e9sormais son d\u00e9veloppement en renfor\u00e7ant notamment ses partenariats avec des
